“’Tis only a bruise,” Rane said.
“Earned on my account,” Florie muttered.
He flashed her a mischievous grin. “Ye know, my mother always gave my bruises a kiss. She assured me ‘twould speed the healin’.”
“Did she?”
“Oh, aye,” he assured her with mock solemnity.
